Keep Your Bar Cool and Quiet While Serving Frozen Drinks Fast with the Frosty Factory Model 289R

Adding a frozen drink machine to your bar shouldn't mean adding heat and noise to your serving area. The Frosty Factory 289R is a remote-cooled frozen drink machine that produces up to 390 ten-ounce drinks per hour, roughly 30 gallons of frozen product every hour, while its condensing unit operates in a separate location away from your bar. That means no excess heat, reduced noise behind the counter, and noticeably lower air conditioning costs over time.

A 3 HP compressor and R448A refrigerant power the 289R's freezing cycle, while the 16-quart cylinder and 24-quart hopper give you plenty of capacity to serve large crowds without constant refills. The built-in stand-by switch refrigerates mix overnight at 40°F, cutting down on daily prep time and reducing product waste. And a lighted flavor sign with a clear faceplate draws the customer's eye to your frozen drink menu.

  • Up to 390 ten-ounce frozen drinks per hour (approximately 30 gallons per hour)
  • 3 HP Compressor with R448A refrigerant
  • Remote Cooled with condenser installed away from the serving area
  • 16-Quart Cylinder and 24-Quart Hopper (6 gallons total hopper capacity)
  • Stand-By Switch refrigerates mix overnight at 40°F
  • Lighted Flavor Sign draws customer attention to your frozen drink selection
  • 115V Operation (NEMA 5-15) with optional 230V (NEMA 6-20)

How the Frosty Factory 289R Frozen Cocktail Machine Keeps Every Drink Smooth and Ready to Pour

The 289R uses a 16-quart cylinder to freeze the mix to a consistent quality that you can't get from making drinks in small batches. Above it sits a 24-quart hopper that feeds fresh mix into the cylinder automatically as drinks are dispensed. Your bartenders never have to pause service to reload, and every drink poured tastes the same as the last.

Behind that consistency is a 3 HP compressor running on R448A refrigerant. It keeps the cylinder at freezing temperature even during sustained high-volume service, maintaining product quality whether you're five drinks into the night or five hundred. That consistency also supports effective inventory and liquor cost control since every serving uses the same amount of mix.

Remote Refrigeration That Keeps Heat and Noise Out of Your Serving Area

Traditional air-cooled and water-cooled frozen drink machines dump heat directly into the room where they operate. The 289R takes a different approach. Its remote condensing unit installs separately, whether that's in a back hallway, equipment room, or on the roof.

The main unit at the bar requires just 6 inches of rear clearance and no side clearance at all, making it easy to fit into tight spaces behind the counter. Without a condenser running inside the cabinet, the machine operates quietly and doesn't add heat to your serving area. Your HVAC system works less, and your staff stays comfortable.

Never Run Short During a Rush with the 6 Gal Tank Capacity Frosty Factory 289R

Running out of mix in the middle of a rush means lost sales and frustrated customers. The 289R's 24-quart (6-gallon) hopper gives you a generous reserve that feeds the cylinder continuously, while the 16-quart cylinder handles the freezing and dispensing.

That large hopper means fewer refills during peak service. Your bartenders spend more time serving customers and less time tending to the machine.

Keep Your Mix Chilled Overnight with the Stand-By Switch

Draining the mix every night and refilling the machine every morning takes time your staff could spend on other tasks. The 289R includes a stand-by switch that refrigerates the mix overnight at 40°F. Your mix stays safely chilled inside the machine, ready for rapid startup the next day.

This does more than save labor hours. It also reduces product waste since you're not dumping unused mix at closing time. And because the mix is already at refrigeration temperature when you switch back to freeze mode, the machine reaches serving consistency faster than starting from scratch.

Lighted Flavor Sign That Puts Your Frozen Drinks in the Spotlight

Frozen drinks sell best when customers can actually see them. The 289R features a lighted flavor sign combined with a large clear faceplate that shows off the product inside the cylinder. The illuminated signage draws the customer's eye toward your frozen drink station, making it easy for them to spot what's available.

Whether you're serving frozen margaritas, daiquiris, or specialty cocktails, that visual presence encourages impulse purchases from customers who might not have otherwise ordered a frozen drink. With profit margins on frozen drinks reaching 500% to 1,100% and beyond, every extra order adds up quickly.

Scale Your Frozen Drink Program with the 289R-1-1 or 289R-2-1

The 289R platform lets you run up to 2 dispensers from a single remote condensing unit, giving you room to expand your frozen drink menu without doubling your mechanical equipment.

  • 289R-1-1 – 1 dispenser connected to 1 condensing unit
  • 289R-2-1 – 2 dispensers connected to 1 condensing unit

Start with one dispenser and add a second later when demand picks up, all running off the same condenser. Contact us if you need help deciding which 289R configuration is the best match for your bar or restaurant.
